Book Review: The Maze Runner by James Dashner

Book Review time! This one will be the book The Maze Runner by James Dashner. This is a sci-fi thriller that is the first of a trilogy, its sequels being The Scorch Trials and The Death Cure.

Plot:
A sixteen year old boy  wakes up in a metal box, not remembering anything but his name, Thomas. When the box opens, a hand pulls him out and he;'s welcomed to "The Glade", a civilization consisting only of teenage boys, no adults, and no females. Certain people, called "Runners" have to run out to map the maze surrounding the Glade, and get back before nightfall, or Grievers, horrifying creatures that come out and kill whoever's in the maze at night, will hunt them down, and kill them. The day after Thomas arrives, a girl comes in the box. But thats not the only odd thing, the message she carrys is one that will haunt the Glade-forever. Now Thomas and other people in the Glade have to work together to solve the maze- before time runs out.

Review:
This was a very suspenseful book, packed with action, mystery, and suspense. A great start to a series, The Maze Runner is a positively great book.
I would reccomend this book to fans of The Hunger Games, for it is a tale of survival, wit, and courage also.
On a scale from 1-10 this book gets a 8.5 :D
